Abstract
Apraxia of speech is impairment of their ability to coordinate the sequential or articulatory movements and result from an insult to the left cerebral hemisphere, especially lesion in left opecular area and
pericentral sulcus. Although the left opercular region has been identified as coordinating articulation of speech, the precise regions remain unclear. We present a case with severe apraxia of speech due to an infarction in left pericentral sulcus, especially precentral gyrus in insula, without other neurological dificits.
